After a week stay in Boracay i finally get to shoot my friend and client Mon last March 29, 2008 at Sea Wind. :) I met Mon when i was still doing events for Globe and Bora was also our first project 5 years ago. I love this couple and one reason is probably because they love pictures... imagine 2 prenups (1 by Jason in Intramuros and the other a day before the wedding by Heidi in Fairways & Blue Water).

Mon & Mia are not just pretty subject... they are also super nice and maalaga people. Not to mention, a lot of people who i look upto were part of the entourage like Edric Mendoza, Paul Tan-Chi & L.A. Mumar. Galing! See in Pic #24 how they huddled up to lift up the day to God...

Oh, Lastly, Thanks to Tides for allowing us to shoot in their beautiful place. Of course, could not have done it without Amanda Tirol.

Mon & Mia, good luck sa pagpili ng pictures... Remember 150 pictures lang! hahaha. :D

This is my 5th day in boracay and yesterday we saw a reception set-up in Sea Wind. Of course our question was "Sino kaya ang photogapher?" and our guess was that it was a local. So Heidi and I decided to become "Hunters" for a day. In case you don't know what a hunter is, know those unofficial photographers who just comes in churches, shoots around and then sells pictures to you after? Thats a hunter! So we waited under the sun for the beach ceremony to start... supposedly 430pm it was delayed to around 5:15. Then the pastor started walking followed by the groom then the entourage. We were surprised that we could not see anyone holding big cameras... To our shock they did not book any photographer. It was just them taking pictures of their ceremony. Kaya... kinareer na namin. We were able to come up with 500+ pictures and we would like to share to you 37 of our favorites.

Sayang no one was there to do "portrait shoots" of the couple.. we would have obliged. ganda pa naman ng sunset.

Our first attempt at being unofficial photographers cum hunters in a wedding.

This morning, we decided to give the CDs to the couple with a note that ended with a nice verse found by monique. "Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers." Galatians 6:9-10

And the couple we just blessed with free ceremony shoot were believers. :)

Oh.. All shots taken using only 70-200mm lens. Kaya no wide shots. Feeling paparazzi eh. hehehe.

Blog EntryMy rest in BoracayMar 24, '08 10:48 PM
for everyone

I am now on my 2nd day in Boracay... a week after holy week, the perfect time to be in the beach (unlike holy week when it becomes chaotic). I am actually looking forward to 2 things: my wedding shoot in 2 hours and my family arriving late this afternoon.  For the first time in quite a while i get to rest and enjoy the beach with them. :)

Quite timely... my reading today is about rest.  in fact the heading is "Promised rest for God's people" in Hebrews 4 it says "God's promise of entering his rest still stands, so we ought to tremble in fear that some of you might fail to experience it."

Let me write again what i don't want you to miss... "Tremble in fear that some of you might fail to miss it". if you can't understand it, let me ask you.. Are you sure of going to heaven? Are you afraid of not going to heaven (which is equivalent to going to hell)?

In verse 3 it says "For only we who believe can enter his rest. even though it has been ready since he made the world"  Fantastic isn't it? our place of paradise, and where you will live after you die has already been prepared thousands of years before you were even born... but tremble, because not all of us will be able to live in it -- sayang naman when all you needed to do was to believe in Jesus.

The Chapter ends with this...

"Nothing in all creation is hidden from God. Everything is naked & exposed before his eyes and he is the one whom we are accountable."

and an encouragement... "Jesus understands your weakness, for he faced all of the same testings we do, yet he did not Sin."

Thank you Lord for allowing me to spend some time here in this island where i get a glimpse of what you have in store for those who believe.
