Sarah's family are very loyal clients of mine, asking me if i could fly over to shoot even small occasions such as birthdays. Of course because i didn't believe in spending for such an event i always decline. Too bad when it was Sarah's turn to tie the knot i was not available anymore. Jayjay will be shooting their wedding in iloilo. It was my idea however to do the prenup in Bohol since i've never shot one there. Today i feel like being more like myself & get away from the usual heavy photoshopped pictures i see around. All pictures here are posted the way they came out of my camera. No sharpening, no leveling, no adjustment whatsoever. I personally think it stains the eye less. Hope you like it... Today was supposed to be rainy... Praise God for giving me just the right sunlight to shot throughout the day. There was about a 15 minute window (4 pics) when it rained but i kept on shooting. The couple did not want the usual sites where you usually take you engagement pics. They just wanted around the neighborhood where they lived. Oh, Joby also warned me how much Gani was not into this pictorial thing... but look at how good he was. ;) By the way, Joby was a friend of mine in college. However, shirley is something else. When i got to the prep she was already made up ready for pictorial. After our in-between, she also got a studio set-up and then was still up for more shots till after reception. Not minding if it was raining... Almost 14 hours of posing cannot knock her out. Unfortunately,  last July 19, 2008 Carlo was rushed to the hospital because of extreme pain on the right hand side of his stomach. At first we thought it was Gall Stones and then we thought it was his appendix. It turned out he had a mass the size of a golf ball that had to be removed.  Praise God carlo was now ok. So jayjay had to fill his shoes the last minute and everything went well... however, to Carlo's surprise, right after the wedding, the couple went to Medical City to pay him a visit... Featured films are Hulk, Indiana Jones, Hancock and Wall-E... So they gave almost everyone that attended last sundays service a ticket to AMC theater. Unfortunately, the theater was so packed instead of watching Hulk we ended up watching Kung Fu Panda. I should say it was a great movie fit for kids and lots of values inside... did we find God? Hearing how much hotel was and that there was already a group of filipino Photographers forming up there, i lost hope and thought my chances of ever shooting there was slim. Those photographers could probably offer lower prices and all being based there. Anyway, when i asked around when the best time was to go there, i heard that now was too hot and that the "cool" season was start of October. When i checked when i was free for at least a week i saw that Oct 27 to Nov 2 was the only continuos week where i would be free. Plus luckily, my couple Trixie & Mark offered their nice place for me to stay in lowering my expenses. Mon, 19 May 2008 23:31:09 -0000 Sam & Wilma 5-18-08 one of the best & most evangelical weddings i've shot... Wilma & Sam have been going steady for 11 years. Thats since High School. You really know they really love & respect each other but what i admire most about these 2 is how they took care of us (may chocolate pa ako & energy drink during preps) & how much they love Jesus. Sam tithed (giving of 10% of earnings to church) even during the times when they almost had to call off the wedding because of a financial crisis. Grabe... its just like saying "wag na matuloy and wedding basta i will not let go of God". Sam also ended the program with a song number serenading not only wilma but giving honor to God. The couple had 2 surprise numbers for me... by including in the script of the host a thank you to me and reiterating an assurance i gave them a couple of months back "I am not just your wedding supplier, i will be with you and look after you guys even after the wedding!". Mike & Ivy were one of those we were able to close.  However, there was a problem.  The organizers told me that the people attending were Filipinos who were getting married in the Philippines, but these couples were getting married in Los Angeles.  In short, US wedding at Philippines price!!!  However, something drew me to these couples aside from their great looks and the thought of doing another US wedding. Do You know that feeling when a voice just whispers deep inside you to go ahead  and take this…  so that’s just what I did… little did I know that these couples would lead me to 2 more Filipino weddings (thanks to the mom of ivy - tita Yolanda and another USA wedding). Finally, my first shoot in Singapore! :) I'll be flying in Aug 9 and will arrive at 10am.  Then will return Aug 12 10am again.  This means i have 1 more slot for prenup, that will be on a weekend either Aug 9 or 10 (the couple of course who is flying me over will get to get first pick).  If anyone is willing to do a prenup on the 11th, lemme think about that.
